Call of the Void
Embracing Death's kiss

I sat with you for many years
Thinking you were pain
And only when
you disappeared
I realized
Comprehended
your fame
Without you I felt empty
A shell
With an echo of your call
As we sat
long years ago
You shared with me
the story
About my fall
And in the dark
I could not see
The majesty you'd unfold
But now I’ve grown
Many seeds were sown
You never left me cold
I met new friends
Named them pain and grief
Until my mind was blown
A gentle breeze
It made me blue
Yet within that breath
A familiar voice
Rang true
It was you?
There I stood
Full of disdain
Until I saw your name
Never did I think
That who you are
Is the reason
For my gain
Within you lies my power
My strength
My flower
For the seeds that now grow
Were not planted
In a void
Instead
They lie within the warmth
Of all
That's destroyed
Now when you call
I no longer fear
Your gifts I receive eagerly
I hold them dear
May we meet again
Within that breath
I am pleased to call you
My dearest friend
Death
When was the last time you released what gave you life?

Death and rebirth. You can’t have one without the other. Befriending death is the answer, I agree. And our culture needs to understand this in order to end the suffering.
